Marion Koubouri, designer, BA.
Marion studied Textile Design at the Manchester University. Her designs have won several awards in European competitions the most significant being a bursary from the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in the U.K. She travelled to Japan, Indonesia and Thailand to study the “Traditional Methods of Fabric Decoration”. This project won The Alyson Leslie Associates Award, from the RSA in 1998.
She worked for many years as free-lance designer, creating collections for furnishing textiles and home apparel. From 1999 to 2004 she worked as Head of the Creative Department at IONIA Porcelain in Greece.
In 2004 she established her own Design Studio in Athens, designing tableware, furnishing fabrics, wallpapers and carpets. Working closely with many companies in Greece, including KENTIA, IONIA Porcelain, VAMVAX, and abroad such as Ercuis&Raynaud-Paris (tableware), KA International-Spain (white linen), AS Creations-Germany (wallpaper), Mikasa Tabletop-New York.
In 2013 she co-founded IDISTI-Greece with a twist, a Greek company which designs and produces everyday objects and gifts of unique design inspired from Greek history from ancient to present times.
